Momma and Daddy lived with Uncle Truman and Aunt Francis when they married. They lived in a house with a big front porch and 2 front doors like some of the old houses used to be.
Momma poured the vanilla out of the bottle to flavor something and Francis about died. You see Momma's Daddy had a store and they were well to do for those times. When Grandpa Gaddy wanted groceries she took a little box to the store and loaded up what she wanted. Momma did not know how to be "saving" with supplies like I am sure that Francis Rudd had been raised to be.
They did not live together very long...I do not think. I am sure the house was near Denver, AR.
Francis was pretty and Mama always said Aunt Francis could cook better than anyone she knew. About the time Daddy retired Mama and Francis became close again and talked on the phone daily...It may have started when daddy and Truman worked together on the Eldridge farm. I know Daddy enjoyed working with Truman for those few years probably the only job he ever had he enjoyed. They NEVER got into it about anything those short years.
I just remember aunt Francis suffering so from the recluse"sp?/ spider bite on her foot. I also thought she was such a fantastic cook - I remember, however, that my Mom and Aunt Winnie never felt comfortable visiting in her home - it did get better as they all got older - they always felt sorry for Truman.
