Rain, rain, rain.....

It has been raining all morning, but when it stops I am going to pull weeds.
I'm back to taking the paper now that "Bushie" is gone.....I hope they continue to go after Cheney. He was one sneaky pete ....they have really been going after him in our paper. For the last two days the second page has been full of his misdealings and lying.

Grandpa teaching....

Grandpa is showing Paxton how to use the hedge trimmers.....getting things done around here is difficult between rain drops.
Paxton is playing in his last baseball playoffs, so since he won last night....his last game will be Thursday night. We have had all three boys this weeks while their parents are working. Busy, busy, busy!!!

We had a great day...

We were a really busy crew - we saw the lego's, went to lunch at Fritz's and then took all three to Kaliedescope. Kaliedescope is a free kids arts and crafts area that is sponsored by Hallmark. The kids really had a great day!Posted by Picasa

Trying to hold out....

I'm really trying to hold out until the 4th to pick my wonderful tomatoes, but I think I will probably pick the one on the right today. I just can't wait to taste my yummie tomato.

Historic Slave Cabin

This was one of the first places that Anna Mae rescued in Arrow Rock. It was the one remaining slave cabins. For several years she taught history lesson to young children in this cabin. The artifacts from this cabin are really something to see.

Arrow Rock

We had a wonderful, hot time, at Arrow Rock on Tuesday ad Wednesday. The white house was Nancy's and it is across the street from these two historic buildings. We served 25 for lunch and believe me....I would have never made it through this event without Mike. The grayish, brown house with the white flag is Anna Mae's house which is directly on the side of Nancy's house.

Heading to Arrow Rock..

Mike and I are taking Anna Mae and Dr. Bob down to Arrow Rock tomorrow. On Wednesday we will have 22 for lunch before we go to see the production of "Annie" at the Lyceum Theatre.
This will be my first trip down since Nancy passed away....I'm sure am glad Mike is going also.

Sam's dog passed away on Sat. morning...he was a rescue dog and absolutely a beautiful cocker spaniel. They had only had him for 9 months, but Sam had become very attached to him. Sam has really, really been sad. Cindy walked into the living room this afternoon and Sam was down on his knees praying out- loud to God for a new dog.

They are leaving tomorrow to go on a little vacation to Branson....the trip has been planned for months. Maybe this will get his mind off of his sadness for awhile.

Finding Mike

Yesterday I could not find Mike. There were signs all around the yard that some "mad-man" had cut limbs off of every tree. The ground all around the house was littered with tree limbs. I could not hear a chainsaw - but could see the evidence everywhere.
Finally, on the third round of the house I saw him walk into our garage on the front of the house.
I said, " can't believe I could not find you!" "Bye - I'm leaving for the store".
The limbs are still all over the yard - hope he finds some energy today!
Once I started to publish this blog - five tree service adds popped up, that is almost scary!
