Fletasonly

World War II
Thank God they all came home! Uncle Floyd, Uncle Willis, Uncle George and Uncle Tom. I didn't know until Uncle George died and we heard his military record that he had been awarded a Silver Star - I would love to know the details.

there probably is away to find out. what i would do is order his mitalary record. i probably would tell a fib and say i was his daughter. usally family carrys more weight.or if you don't want to fib maybe you could get skip to do it. he was drafted in west virginia. Fleta got that on his s.s. death record. by the way the reason we did that we were searching on line for skip. and fleta came across uncle Georges socical security death record. i had told fleta i was pretty sure skips name was george. we found a record where skip had open the massage polar and it had his picture. i posted his picture on my blog. it is in my archieves.

I wonder if they all hated the war as much as Daddy did. I doubt it.

They were not on Iwo or they would
have probably all felt like Dad.

Yes, thank God they all came home
as many did not. That one encounter on Iwo over 6,000 died.

Ok, Betty, which one is you in the picture?

You know this picture of us and the billy goat was taken by Aunt Fleta or Aunt Winnie on one of their trips to visit Arkansas.
