We are Freezing

We are freezing and really working on getting well..Sam got sick at school today and his Daddy went to school and got him.  He will spend the night and will be here tomorrow....I'm sorry that you all in Ark still have it so cold and miserable😢

Black and Blue Friday

Had a good day yesterday....tiring, but good. The sun was shinning and no harsh wind blowing...got out and did some shopping. When I got up at six...Mike had already left to shop...hopefully for me. I saw that they have a rechargeable wine opener that I ask for for Christmas.  When he got home at 7 AM....he was literally sick...I think he had his first real reaction to low blood sugar...he has never had a severer drop with his diabetes in 20 years....now I have decided he has the flu...wish he had gotten the flu shot like I wanted him to.   Later in the morning I went over to Liberty and had some luck buying waders for our oldest grandson.  I am posting this Maxine for Fleta...thought of her shopping for the girl today!

Tonight our undefeated Chiefs play the Denver Broncos.  GO CHIEFS...we are having friends over to watch the game with us!

So pleased

Mike and I are so pleased to have wonderful neighbors.  Today has been a beautiful day....but I knew when I got home from my church meeting I was going to need to change and go help Mike with the million of leaves that have fallen in the front yard...we ended up having an awesome surprise...our six neighbors came over and helped!  Mom, Dad and five children...here is a great picture of the five kids!

Our Japanese Maplebis so beautiful this fall....trees are so much prettier up here in Kansas City North.   The trees at Bennett were a real disappointment this last weekend...Mike coined the phrase "Down and

 Brown".... Most people do not do a very good job of predicting a pretty fall.

Camper is closed out for the season....we had a great weekend.  Cold...but beautiful!  Last wonderful campfire of the season....plus, great extra large marshmallows.  Kris and Sam got in a little fishing on Saturday.

I took two of the grand boys and Cindy to see Josh Groban last night and we had an awsome time.  Josh Groban has a beautiful voice...and he also is an awesome drummer!

We made it back home to KC...really am tired this evening.   I'm so appreciative that Mike drove me down and back from the reunion.   I'd say if you ever need rain...just have us drive to Arkansas.   Wow....it was a white knuckle drive down and back.

Prayers Needed

I heard from Suzie yesterday....really sad news...she has breast cancer!   She is really facing a tough ordeal....chemo, then lumpectomy, then many weeks of radiation.  She says she has a level 7 out of 9 level tumor.  I have not ever heard it rated like this...but it sure sounds like an awful ordeal.   Love her like a sister and this sure makes me sad😥

Today is my baby girl's birthday....she is the joy of my life...Happy Birthday Cindy!  You are an awesome Mom, Wife, Teacher and a very caring Daughter!!!!  I ❤️You Cindy!

Home Again

Such a peaceful and relaxing time...I have missed my fishing this summer...so glad we had a break in the weather!   Today at home we are having a much needed slow, steady rain.  There is now a possibility we may be able to come to the reunion and we need to know what time you all are gathering ?

Mike's niece is getting married in St.Louis the same weekend as the Cousin Reunion...so I am planning to go with Mike. It will work better if we go the same direction.  I really will miss seeing you all...please take and post plenty of pictures ...Love you all!

Yeah Sam!!!

Sam just earned gold in golf skills with Special Olympics.  This qualifies him to go to state.  way to go Sam!!!

Community Dinner

Once a month our church serves a free community dinner and Mike and I usually work these dinners.  It is such a wonderful way to get to know the people in the neighborhood.  last night we served 183.. We usually serve around 130...so we were so tickled that our numbers went up. Here are the guys taking a break...they usually catch us girls sitting on the stage taking a break.

Girlfriend Weekend

Returned last evening after a fantastic 4 days with girlfriends.  We drove in 3 cars and went to Walnut Creek ,Ohio.  It is the largest Amis community in the United States.  I will share more pictures as I get them...it was a long, long drive...14 hours each way, but my knees held up!  The Amish are so incredible !

Another rainy day...I took the boys to the indoor pool and they had a lot of fun!

Visitor's Day

Cindy, Mike, Paul, Tanner and myself left early this morning and went down to Scout camp to visit Kris and Sam.  It poured down rain all day...but, it was an awesome day!!!

Sam is down atScout Camp for 10 days...this is a little town just outside the Scout Reservation....they take a walk over to this little store and have a peach Nehi float...we go down for visitor's Sunday this coming Sunday...can't wait to see him!

Another Round

Another round of knee shots today...finally the last one in left and just one more in right next week...I have been helping Cindy get her room set up.  I can hardly believe she has to go back Aug 8th...I never had to go back until the last of August.  I will try to post one of the very neat bulletin boards we finished today.q

 

Shots are working

Today is a really good day...got up and no pain in either knee.  Getting the shots does not hurt...but for two days following...my knees feel real full and tight...Just one more in my left knee and two more in my right...this going to be so much better than surgery.

Icing knees

Had shot #4 in left knee and shot# 3 in right knee yesterday....when I got up this morning thet both felt pretty good...icing right now and watching Rachel Ray

Celebrating 47

We started our anniversary day by going to breakfast at The Big Biscuit...it was ok, we will probably go back to regular restaurant next time.

Nice Neighbors

We have new , nice, young neighbors that moved in last October...they have a two year old little boy and a little girl born last October.

For the last two weekends they have built this cool platform for the two year olds new slide.  Today they installed these cool citronella wine bottle candles all around the deck.  mike helped with the building both weekends.

Home grown

The picture of those home grown Arkansas tomatoes absolutely made my mouth water.  My favorite sandwich is a BLT with home grown tomatoes...can't wait until we finally have some in KC...with the hot weather...it may be pretty soon!
