Returned From St. Louis

We quickly headed to St. Louis to attend the funeral of our dear Mary's Mom Bev.  Mary is married to Mije's brother Paul and Bev lived with them all of Paul and Mary's married life, except the last five years she has been in a nursing home.  I was a time to also catch up with some cherished family and friends.

Happy Memorial Day

We decided to celebrate today and then eat left overs tomorrow.  After church...Cindy, Kris and Sam came over and Kris cooked ribs out on our grill.  Everything sure tasted great!

Oh Happy Day

Last Tuesday we kidnapped my dear friend and Linda and I took her to see the beautiful Irises in bloom.  Then yesterday Judy had her double mastectomy and she has NO CANCER in her lymph nodes. Praise God!

AUMC Day of Service

Today was our Church's Day of Service.  We had six teams out in the Community...each consisting of at least 10 members.  Mike and the grand boys worked at the church using a power washer to clean all our folding chairs...something much needed.  I headed up a group of women that went to Safe Haven...a Women's Shelter in the Northland.  We worked for two hours and did some much needed deep cleaning.  What a wonderful way to start the celebration of being 100 years old!

Still Moving Along

I know it has been awhile since you all have heard from me...but as Helen said...too many friends Winnie! (I love having so many close friends)  I really am grieving over the death of a dear, dear friend last Thursday . Although she had been in the hospital since the first part if April...her little body could not fight any more. Her funeral was Monday evening and then I had to do a Memorial service for her yesterday...all her family is from out of town...so we have been doing a lot of errand running and meals.

I look forward to getting back to sleeping well...Love you all!

Great Day

Mike and I had a great day taking our dear 92 year old friend to church Sunday.  I was her first outing since Christmas...she had a terrible fall and has been in the hospital and nursing homes.  It is such a blessing that she is home with wonderful help.  Love you Anna Mae❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yeah!!!

I am finally convinced that SPRING has finally arrived.  Our beautiful tree survived the harsh winter!

 

Another Round Complete

Went today and had my fourth set of shots...just one more to go next week. Tonight my knees hurt and I am on Aleve and icing!

Attended Stations of the Cross

Tonight I attended The Stations of the Cross with two very dear friends.  It was a very meaningful pilgrimage of the story of Jesus on this Holy Maundy Thursday.  I am so happy I attended this walk...I sure needed the story of Jesus tonight. We went the Methodist Church where I use to be on staff.

Sad, Sad, Day in KC

Such a stupid act of cowardness...the killing of three innocent people by a stupid radical.  member of the KKK from Aurora Missouri.  So many tapes from his past life spouting how he hates Jews..,so he goes on a senseless rampage, killing a 14 year old boy, his Grandfater a Doctor. Then goes over to a nursing home and kills an innocent woman going into visit her mother...all the time screaming antisemetic hate.  The Grandfather and grandson were both Methodist and the woman was Catholic....I hope they just put the idiot in General Population!!!

So Tired!!!

It is 1:30 and we just got in from our Brunch.  The rain held off...but for some reason our crowd was small...will be anxious to see what we cleared.

Another LOL

Worked this morning at church preparing for our Sunday School Palm Sunday Brunch.  Mike and I are two of the cooks...I fix the baked scrambled eggs and Mike cooks the sausage and bacon.  We all have a good time and we use our profits to support our local missions.  Sure hope the heavy rain hold off until we are all finished.

A friend shared this picture...what things might look like in the future with Global Warming and so many trees being cut down...I really did laugh out loud!

Figured it Out!

I finally figured out why my foot has been hurting....

Dr plus new car

Yesterday was one busy day...foot xrayed and he put me in an air boot for a month.  Bone spur and possible stress fracture in foot.  The boot does make it feel better....cushion helps.

After we left the Dr...we went by the car dealership on a whim and actually traded in the van and we leased a car for the first time.  It is a 2014 Passat...made by VW.  I am pleased...it is so much easier to get in and out.  Here is my lovely boot!

Sunshine

Great morning at church this morning....sun is shinning, but still needed a light coat.

I hadn't mentioned that I am hobbled again...down all week trying to rest foot left knee and right foot...Cane!  Finally have appointment in AM with the specialist...so maybe next week will be a little pain free. Maybe I will get the knee shots like last summer...they have lasted almost 9 months...any way...the sun is shinning😎
