Niece

Mike's niece is getting married in St.Louis the same weekend as the Cousin Reunion...so I am planning to go with Mike. It will work better if we go the same direction.  I really will miss seeing you all...please take and post plenty of pictures ...Love you all!

Yeah Sam!!!

Sam just earned gold in golf skills with Special Olympics.  This qualifies him to go to state.  way to go Sam!!!

Community Dinner

Once a month our church serves a free community dinner and Mike and I usually work these dinners.  It is such a wonderful way to get to know the people in the neighborhood.  last night we served 183.. We usually serve around 130...so we were so tickled that our numbers went up. Here are the guys taking a break...they usually catch us girls sitting on the stage taking a break.

Girlfriend Weekend

Returned last evening after a fantastic 4 days with girlfriends.  We drove in 3 cars and went to Walnut Creek ,Ohio.  It is the largest Amis community in the United States.  I will share more pictures as I get them...it was a long, long drive...14 hours each way, but my knees held up!  The Amish are so incredible !

Another rainy day...I took the boys to the indoor pool and they had a lot of fun!

The boys are almost home.  They have had a great, but very wet time.  I can't wait to see them!

Look Look

Visitor's Day

Cindy, Mike, Paul, Tanner and myself left early this morning and went down to Scout camp to visit Kris and Sam.  It poured down rain all day...but, it was an awesome day!!!

Sam

Sam is down atScout Camp for 10 days...this is a little town just outside the Scout Reservation....they take a walk over to this little store and have a peach Nehi float...we go down for visitor's Sunday this coming Sunday...can't wait to see him!

Another Round

Another round of knee shots today...finally the last one in left and just one more in right next week...I have been helping Cindy get her room set up.  I can hardly believe she has to go back Aug 8th...I never had to go back until the last of August.  I will try to post one of the very neat bulletin boards we finished today.q

 

Shots are working

Today is a really good day...got up and no pain in either knee.  Getting the shots does not hurt...but for two days following...my knees feel real full and tight...Just one more in my left knee and two more in my right...this going to be so much better than surgery.

Icing knees

Had shot #4 in left knee and shot# 3 in right knee yesterday....when I got up this morning thet both felt pretty good...icing right now and watching Rachel Ray

Celebrating 47

We started our anniversary day by going to breakfast at The Big Biscuit...it was ok, we will probably go back to regular restaurant next time.

Nice Neighbors

We have new , nice, young neighbors that moved in last October...they have a two year old little boy and a little girl born last October.

For the last two weekends they have built this cool platform for the two year olds new slide.  Today they installed these cool citronella wine bottle candles all around the deck.  mike helped with the building both weekends.

Home grown

The picture of those home grown Arkansas tomatoes absolutely made my mouth water.  My favorite sandwich is a BLT with home grown tomatoes...can't wait until we finally have some in KC...with the hot weather...it may be pretty soon!

Tanner's Celebration

Today was Tanner's last day at school camp...it was a fun week of learning to be a 6th Grader for next year.   So we had a celebration today and Cindy and I took the two boys to the show.   they both seemed to have a good time

Today is free slurpy day at 7/11... Cindy and Sam took advantage of free!

Hot is finally here!

I am so happy for summer...thou shalt not complain that it is in the 90's!

Worked at the Food Pantry this morning...we sure had a lot of folk... About 1/2 homeless and they were delighted to get out of the heat for just a little break!  The pantry has a small window unit and it is a small space, but it gives them a little break.

Tanner has been here this afternoon...he has cleaned some of my Fisher Price old toys...hoping that others sell...then we can put in some more to sell😊

Antiques

Cindy and I almost literally took the plunge today...we opened our first Antique booth today.  We have a lighted cabinet almost at the entrance. It has 6 glass shelves..and it is under lock and key.  We started with just a few of my vintage Fisher Price toy collection...I am so excited and look forward to this being a success story.

 

Busy Day

We are having fun on our staycation...we to a second show in two weeks...We went to see the "Lone Ranger".  We really enjoyed the movie..,Johnny Depp is an absolute hoot as Tonto...good entertainment and a clean movie.

Sam went out with his Dad to his Grandpa Grahn' house and was ble to pay Grandpa's new set of drums...he had a ball...plus he is getting really good!

Happy Day After

We really had a very awesome 4th ...kids over and friends...ended up being a fun day.  Cindy, kris and Sam ended up be our host and hostess...kris cooked delicious ribs.

After the part we want up to our friends driveway and watched our city firework display...it was one of the best in years...lasted 30 minutes and our friend served homemade vanilla ice cream...an old family recipe...it is the first I have had that even comes close to Grandma Powell's

.  By the way do any of you know that recipe she had?  also I long for three childhood tastes from our grandma

League Camps

Paxton's baseball team just won league championship...whoot whoot

We just got home a little bit ago....taught the little ones at Sunday School, then went with another couple for lunch at a Liberty restaurant...came home for a little bit and iced my knee...then off to the ball game..sure glad it was not beastly hot...it was beautiful outside.

Paxton is the one on the right...he is Paul's oldest and he will be in High School next year.

Sam

Sam had an awesome time at camp.  It didn't rain on them even one day. He swam every day, he learned to ride a horse, archery everyday and he even zip lined.  They keep them very busy...he sure enjoyed sleeping in his own bed last night.  They stopped and ate sushi on the way home from camp.

Home

We went out to eat after the Dr and then went to the show....this was a real treat for us...we sure laughed out loud at the new Sandra Bulloc movie "The Heat".  Crude but absolutely hillaous.

I am scheduled for out patient surgery on Monday   July 8th and if he has a cancellation...July 5th...a couple of weeks and I should be fine...I'm ready!!!

Dr tomorrow

Have been doing so much sitting...have been really pissed about this Paula Deen thing and have been doing a lot of research as I sit here icing and resting the knee...I have my own real conspiracy...President Obama is out of the country with his family and this whole unraveling of Paula Deen starts and it just like a cancer....

I found out tonight from some pretty hiGh sources in the Democratic Party that Paula has been a huge supporter of President Obama and had many different endorsement parties...I don!'t think that this unraveling is a coincidence ...but instead a well orchestrated plan to undermine her.

This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!  She is not a racist !!!!

Sam

Sam is attending a week long Autistic camp and this is a picture of him when Cindy dropped him off today.  This is a big adventure to stay away without a parent attending. I just know it will be an awesome experience for him.❤

Dreams

Now I will probably have dreams about snakes.....YUCK!!!

I always have my eyes out for snakes....I hate the water moccasins in the water when I fly fish!!

Making My Famous Jello Salad

Putting my cane aside for a few minutes...I made my famous Jello salad for a cookout tomorrow.  I'm one lucky gal to have to gorgeous aprons to wear during the process.  Also...I have my MRI for my knee scheduled for 6/25...X-rays show knee is alright...just have to see now if it is the meniscus on the outside of the knee...not too much pain 

Home Again

We had a great time and worked hard around the outside. I fished one day ...then a lot of folk came in.  Tweaked my knee pretty good.. Have an appointment with Mike's orthopedic Dr on Thurs..I feel real old using a cane!

For Fleta...she is the middle daughter in the Gwaltney line...she is between May and July.

This morning is Food Pantry and then Mike will cook the Hot Dogs at noon and I will read to the kiddos between 12:30 and one. 

I plan is to get around this afternoon and head out in the morning...I'm sur the fish are calling😀

June Gwaltney Reunion
